Elora Gorge Revisited

A year ago, today I was in the Elora Gorge taking shots of the fall colours. It was a nice getaway from Toronto. I can’t believe it’s been a year already though. This shot was taken with the lensbaby 2.0 looking down into the gorge. We eventually made it to the other side and down the stairs. You can see more from that day over here.

Lensbaby Fall

For some strange reason, I like pulling out the lensbaby when the trees start to change colour. The vibrance of colour seem to go hand in hand with the blur of the lensbaby. It’s instand magic my friends.

Yellow Berries

I thought I would post this shot I took last fall with the lensbaby 2.0. In celebration for the recently announced Lensbaby 3G. You’ll notice that there really isn’t much distortion in this image, which just goes to show that sometimes you don’t need to get too crazy with the lensbaby. Sometimes it’s just a useful lens to get closer to subjects if you don’t have a typical macro.

A great tip on to get closer to objects while using a lens baby is to actually pull the lens away from the camera body, allowing you to get a longer focal length, giving you a closer composition of the subject.

Lensbaby Antony

Shot of Antony using Natalie’s Original Lensbaby. In comparison to the 2.0 this is definitely softer and a tad harder to focus.

Lensbaby Shrooms

Looking down at an old stump, I noticed these mushrooms. So i quickly kneeled on the moist grass and got down as low as I could to grab this shot. I used the lensbaby 2.0 and macro filters to get in close.

Purple Flowers

Captured these flowers in the gardens behind the Guild Inn in Scarborough. I used my lensbaby 2.0 and the macro filters to get this effect. I liked the abstract nature of it.

Tiny Blue Flowers

Tiny Blue Flowers that I shot over at the Guild Inn on Monday afternoon. Not quite in focus, but I love the overall fell of it. I used a Lensbaby and Macro kit to capture this shot. The weekend is upon us and I plan to keep things low key. Nevermind the fact that I have a wedding to attend on Saturday and a Camera show on Sunday.
