Howard Hampton and a few other NDPs hit the ice yesterday at Nathan Philip Square. He was seen doing laps around the rink and provided the occasional quick skating lesson to newbie skaters.

His site says Hampton is “A gifted hockey player and all-around sports enthusiast, Mr. Hampton is passionate about the importance of providing community activities for youth and quality public services for all.”

Creep – Lip Dub

Creep from photojunkie on Vimeo.

So when I found this Lip Dub channel on Vimeo, I knew I definitely had to do one.

I was at my sister’s place playing Rock Band on Sunday night and thought it was the perfect opportunity to shoot a Lip Dub of Creep by Radiohead.

Yes, I was actually singing my heart out while taping this.

A Saturday in Pictures

We started off our day in Chinatown. Where we got to see a photojunkie in a mural behind Pho Hung. We then crossed the street over to Bright Pearl for some birthday Dim Sum.

Afterward we wondered about and pasted by the closed down Dumpling House.

Afterwards, we made our way up to Yonge and Eglinton. We saw Ms. Taylor in the parking garage and browsed books at Indigo, prior to an afternoon showing of the The Spiderwick Chronicles.

We topped off the day, heading back downtown to Jill Murray’s book launch. Where J2 showed off her faux b-girl styles and won a prize pack.

Toronto Eaton Centre – Longscreen Style

02.15.2008 Filed Under: Canon TX1, Photos1 Comment1

One of the main reasons why I wanted to try out the Canon Powershot TX1 was it’s ability to capture widescreen HD videos. Strangely enough, unlike most point and shoots, this camera doesn’t have a dedicated video shooting mode. Instead, it has a record button for videos and a shutter button for photos. Smart? perhaps not. Because of this, if I want to shoot any “standard” pictures between my video taking, I need to manually switch from widescreen 16:9 to standard 4:3 aspect ratio or end up shooting widescreen shots or in this case longscreen shots. My personal preference would be to have the traditional photo and video modes on the dial where I can keep my preferences for each separate, because generally they would be different. Or is Canon onto something and believes that widescreen photos will be the standard of the future?

Museum Station: A Work in Progress

Museum Station from photojunkie on Vimeo.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve passed through Museum Station and noticed that they are nearing completion of the station platform renovations.

I’ve been meaning to take pictures of the reno thus far, but I decided that rush hour (when I shot this video) wasn’t the best time to be hopping off to take pictures, especially when I already scored myself a seat.

Currently in possession of the Canon Powershot TX1. I took this test shot in Dundas Square last week. Expect to see more shot from this camera in the coming weeks, but more importantly, expect to see a ton of videos which was the real reason we wanted to give this point and shoot a try.
