Green and Concrete

The new Starbucks up the street from my work is located on the ground floor of this new condo building, It opened up a few weeks back, but the scary thing is that the staff are beginning to recognize me. Just around the corner from it are a few other stores and service in the neighbouring condo. Between the two is this wonderful little courtyard. It has a couple of benches and a few planter with trees and such. This is where this shot was taken. I’m practically over there at least once a day, so I’m enjoying the courtyard for as long as I can before the snow starts arriving. Apparently, the weather is supposed to be in the teens by Wednesday.

Dying Thistles

Taken at Earl Bales Park on a lunch break. Sometimes you just need to get out of the office.

Caution : Wet Floor

Did you know that Dundas Square had it’s own washroom? At the northwest end of the square, you’ll notice an entrance way to the underground parking garage under the square. If you take the stairs one floor down (or elevator), there are washroom facilities just off the parking garage. I’ll have to say that it’s got to be one of the nicest cleanest public washrooms in the downtown core. It is still fairly new, hopefully it won’t get too run down in the next few years.

Turtles on the wall

Turtles on the road seem to be more common on US highways. You can occasionally find them here in Canada, but they aren’t as prominent. This art piece at M-One-11 reminded me of highway turtles. I suppose it means I should go on a roadtrip. Another city would definitely be nice right now. My sister is off to London. Colour me union jack jealous.

South St. Tables

Outside of South Street Burgers off Laird. After spending 30 minutes trying to decide on what earphones to get for my ipod. The place doesn’t look very busy, but the burgers are really tasty.

Suspended

Looking up at the ceiling at Yorkdale Mall. This part of the mall always intrigues me.

Lit from Within

Just off Queen Street, I was walking back to my car when the lit arched windows caught my eye.

Lightbox Test

Things are slowly coming together. Over the last few days, I’ve been trying to get Lightbox js to work on the site. I’ve tried both the js and the wordpress plugin without success.

Jonathan suggested I try thickbox. I just need to find the time.

UPDATE: Lightbox seems to be working now, but it does seem to be a tad unstable. Working when it wants to and not working at others times. If you are familiar with the light box javascript you will already know what to do with the photo above. If you haven’t seen lightbox before, click the image for a larger view.

This was my compromise for switching back to a more traditional blogging format. You still get big images if you want them.

UPDATED AGAIN : This script seems to work fine on Firefox on a PC. It doesn’t work on IE (seriously are people still using that?). It doesn’t seem to work on my Mac at all (Safari or Firefox). Help would definitely be appreciated as lightbox was one of the huge motivating factors for me to move ahead with the redesign.

WORKING : Okay it seems that lightbox does work. I’m just impatient. Mental note for my readers and myself, make sure the page is fully loaded before click and of the images. Currently, only a handful of images are lightbox enabled. Eventually I will manually edit the older photo post as well.
