Remembering Jack Layton

Not really being home much over the last week and a half, I never got a chance to post this photo of Jack Layton from Pride 2006.

Jack, you were an amazing leader, you were such a giving person and overall, Jack was likely one of the nicest and most accessible politicians I’ve seen. You sir will be missed.

For the photoblog today, I thought I’d dig something out of the vault. From the Toronto Pride Parade 2006. Shot with my Canon 20D.

The Whip at Koolhaus

I was invited to shoot The Whip at Koolhaus on Friday night. They played an amazing set to a hyper all ages crowd. Shooting was nearly impossible, as there was no lights on the band, but I did manage to capture a couple of shots.

The Art Gallery of Ontario re-opens its doors to the public today with three days of free admission through the weekend. The Galleria Italia pictured above is a part of the re-imagined space by re-known architect Frank Gehry.

If you can’t make it to the gallery this weekend, take note that the gallery will also offer free admission every Wednesday evening from 6 to 8:30 pm.

PLEASE NOTE : Festivities begin at noon with interactive, outdoor activities along Dundas Street West and McCaul Street. However the doors will not officially open to the public until 4 pm.

Earlier today, I did a shoot at Coca-Cola’s Canadian Head Office. In the modest lobby, they vinyl wrapped one of the walls with a line of vintage bottles. This was the backdrop I used for the portrait I had taken.
