Gee. Does anyone remember when my site used to look like this? I need to get my ass of the floor and get a new site up at rannieturingan.com. This is a cry for help.

I left my job at DICO back in August. Prior to leaving I dumped all my personal files into a folder on the main server, but I never got around to picking up those files until now.
Among the files, were main scans that I had of older pictures, as well as images from my blog over the years as well as other images people had sent me, or things that I had swiped off of fellow bloggers sites.
Let me say this is a throwback. There’s even pictures on here from my first digital camera, which was this Fuji point and shoot.

So my friend David mentioned on the swarm that he got the new iPod Touch (I constantly refer to it as the iTouch). So basically, I asked him to load up photojunkie.ca on the screen and take a picture.
This is what he sent me. Gee, that’s sexy. iWants it even more now. If I had one, I’d totally load the sucker with my photos as an excuse to pull it out and show it off.
So it’s Nuit Blanche and you are going to be awake and roaming the city anyway.
We’ll be checking out other things too. But from 1 AM to 3 AM, I’ll be hanging out at Trinity Bellwoods Park taking portraits of whomever swings by.
So this is my invitation to you to find us in the park.
We are gonna try and stay close to the Queen Street side of the park, but considering this is one of the HUB locations and there will be several other things going on in the park. I’m not 100% sure where we’ll be.
If in doubt. Call me.
Accessories and Costumes are always a bonus!!
Bring your friends.

I was featured in an article on cellphone cameras in the National Post. The piece was a part of a larger special insert on Digital Photography. Here’s a quick quote from the article.
“Having a camera in your cellphone is great for convenience and immediacy,” says Turingan. “Sometimes I might be out shopping and see something really interesting, snap a picture of it, and then if I want I can e-mail it off to my Flickr account or to Facebook, and share it right away.”
Been meaning to write here for awhile now, but haven’t found the motivation to.
Been trying to get organized. More shortly. I promise.

Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you haven’t but I’ve started posting pictures daily again. I started doing so at Eidetikos.com, which I started quite a number of months ago. I originally started posting anonymously, but since the redesign here on photojunkie, I’ve brought it into the fold.
The name came from the word eidetic meaning 1. of, pertaining to, or constituting visual imagery vividly experienced and readily reproducible with great accuracy and in great detail. Eidetikos being it’s greek orgins.
I hope to post a variety of shots on the site, including stuff from deep in my archive of images. For those of you that are into feeds, the right url would be feed://www.eidetikos.com/feed/. Check it out, lemme know what ya think.
