X-Play : The Musical
I watch G4TV’s X-Play religiously. Seriously, I’ve been known to sit down in front of 6 episodes back-to-back on a weekly basis and my iPod video has more X-Play podcasts stored on it than it does music. Not only is it my favourite videogame show, but it’s easily one of my favourite TV shows period. Co-hosts Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler have a flair, style, and attitude that’s so refreshing and rarely found in other review programming. On Mon. Feb. 5\07 @ 8pm EST, they are completely outdoing themselves with an all musical episode. And yes, they ARE singing their own parts. This is so being PVR’ed!

Handheld hopefuls hyping up in harmony
Two very different handheld games received a fair bit of press this past week. Sega’s Crush for the PSP was recently announced as well as more details on Buena Vista Games’ Spectrobes for the DS. I’m pretty excited as both games are introducing innovative gameplay styles unique to their respective systems. While Crush’s puzzle\platform hybrid formula is crossing over the boundaries of 2D and 3D environments in ways never seen before, Spectrobes will be the first game to implement translucent trading cards that are scanned directly into the DS using the stylus to unlock exclusive content amongst a handful of other neat features. Some people are dubbing this a pokemon clone. Whether that’s a good or bad thing, I’m not too sure. But I do know this looks WAY cooler than pokemon ever has. Mac + Wii
So you say you’re sick and tired of hearing Rannie and I go on and on about our Wii consoles?! Well, I’m convinced it’s only because you STILL haven’t gotten your own yet. Let’s just stop this envy once and for all. Go on and install this Wii Finder Widget [via ZDNet Blogs] and end your misery already! Come join our revolution won’t you? And once you finally get a hold of one, trick your system out with some custom content from your very own Mac by using Riverfold Software’s Wii Transfer 2.0 [via 4cr].

Shameless Self Promotion
First, there were the DS buttons. Now, there are also Mii buttons [via Playthrough]. The design on these 1″ identification pins includes a close-up shot of your Mii’s face and your unique 16-digit friend code. Sport your own and you’ll be capping 100 in your Mii Parade in no time flat.

And now for something totally random…
This beautiful little find goes out to J, the biggest Metroid fan I know. Now, it’s well known that our favourite bounty hunter Samus Aran is, in fact, a woman. But hot damn, what a woman! [via That Game Blog] Instant desktop material!
