Button Mash This : Wii want gifts!

So my sister’s still a little busy doing catch up before the holidays and there were a few links I really wanted to write about, so i’m filling in again.

Official Rabbid Merch Available
Still don’t know what to get me for Christmas? Well I personally think this official Rabbid pack by Ubi Art is awesome. You can pick them up via Ubisoft for £14 for the set of four or £4 each. They also have a plushie for £7 which is alright, but not as animated looking as I would have hoped for (I was planning on sewing up my own before this was announced, maybe I still might, I could use a Holiday project to work on). They are also carrying some cool shirts if that is more your style. via That Game Blog.

OMG, Animal Crossing DS Stylus Pens!!!
The NCS which are a company that distributes Japanese imports and merch in the US currently has a shipment of Cool Animal Crossing Merchandise. The first that caught my eye were the Animal Crossing DS Stylus Pens. These are way too cute. And you can get a whole set of 6 for 20 USD. Sounds like a great deal to me, considering I had picked up a two DS stylus pen pack in the US earlier this year for 20, and they were a simple black and white design. I wonder if my sister bought my Christmas gift yet? This would be an awesome stocking stuffer. Other notable items are the Animal Crossing DS Lite pouches and Animal Crossing finger puppets. via Wonderland blog

There’s more Wii related game news after the jump, including Wiimote strap replacement info and Elite Beats giveaway.

Nintendo strengthens it’s Wiimote straps
Nintendo is doing an official recall of any original Wii remote straps, actually it’s more of a replacement. It’s in response to a growing problem of snapping straps and damage to users personal belongs (including TVs, light fixtures, laptops etc). You can see some of the amazing damage on WiiHaveAProblem.com. Personally, I think some people are being a little too careless. I have yet to have any problems and I can be pretty animated when playing.

Buzznet Holds an Elite Beats Cosplay Contest
Nintendo and Buzznet have teamed up to bring you Nintendo’s “Feel the Elite Beat” Dance Video Contest. Basically, You and two friends can win this cool little game and a DS lite each. All you gotta do is dress up and create a video using the MP3 provided on the buzznet site. Of course you also need to sign up for a Buzznet account, likely I already have one. This sounds like it could be an interesting slapdash podcast episode. I’ll have to discuss with my cohorts.

Wii Tour Continues in Canada
The Wii Mall tour continues through the Holiday season in various malls across the country. Also the Wii Cinema toyr wraps up today and tomorrow at in Richmond, Calgary, Toronto and Woodbrige. If you haven’t played one yet, here’s you change to see what you have been missing out on. But be warned, You are gonna want one after you try one. I already have two friends who are not your regular gamer types who claimed they wanted a Wii after playing it.

interestingly, my replacement straps arrived yesterday and they have an entirely different connector between the string and the strap. it’s rounded and no longer says ‘nintendo’ on it. not that it really matters, but i found it a little curious that they didn’t match the above photo.

Heather, apparently what you received is actually a 3rd generation of straps.
