It looks like the TTC subway system may start running 24/7 in the future. Nothing is confirmed of course, but the discussion is on the table which is promising. A report on the possibility however won’t be ready until early next year.
Personally, I think this is a fabulous idea and I know I would probably take advantage of the service more often if this was available.


I bet the cabbies would have an issue with this! But man, would that ever be sweet.
In a past triup to New York City I remember having to wait at leat 15-20 minutes for a subway, but at least it was open.
I know it will probably be at least 20 minute between subways here too, if it goes through, but in any case it would be nice to have that cheaper (than a cab) warmer (than the 24 hour bus) alternative.
From the Metro Morning interview it sounds like this plan is at least 10 years away due to major infrastructure changes they’d need to implement to allow for maintenance while the lines are open.
I would love to see this happen, though a good first step would be opening the subway at 6am on Sunday mornings. That has caught me the wrong way too many times to count.
