Now for a break from our usual Canon programming. The German company Leica has introduced the Leica M8, the first digital body of this reknown M series.
I’m not even going to begin talking about this as anything I could say would serve the camera no justice. Maybe one day, if I ever become independently wealthy.
If you really want more deets, check out the preview at DPreview.com.

can i make a Homer like drooling, “GAHhhhhhhhhhh…” over this?
I’ve been oggling this camera since I saw it.
Top of my wishlist (after win the lottery). Have also noticed that Canadian price (CDN %,449) is similar to US price (US 4,795) unlike many other digital cameras where Canadian prices are up to 25% more in absolute terms.

After all initial problems with this camera, and fixes that came along I decided to order it in December 2006. I sold of my traveling
Kit with 2 Hasselblad xPan cameras (my last film bodies) and got the M8 with a few lenses.
Camera came in last week of February from small but very good Leica dealer in Tornronto (Merkle Camera, ask for Patrick- tell him I sent you).
All together it is what I was expecting (and more). Small and compact hight quality digital system. If you are not familiar with rangefinder cameras be prepared to get use to it. It is a totally different beast from all DSLRs that are on the market for last 4-5 years.
Oh, yes: this is a manual focus system. Remember that?
