Here’s a shot of Graig from awhile back, when he still had a beard.

Pinhole Photography Day

Today is the official Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. If you feel adventurous here is a tutorial on Teaching a cardboard box to be a camera

T minus One Day

There is one day standing between me and the opening of Toronto Squared. My nerves are racing, luckily most of the hard work is done. Last night, we hung the show at the restuarant so technically if you are in the area you could take a sneak peek today. I guess this is it. I’m speechless.

Photojunkie at Hotdocs

File00666.jpg

So yesterday, I picked up my Festival Pass for HotDocs. I’ve been to the odd screening here and there in previous years, but I thought I would check out a few more films, especially since I was involved in the campaign this year. Yes the photos that grace the programme this year, as well as all their other posters and ads were taken by yours truly. I’ve never worked on a project this extensive before so it was a pleasant surprise to see the posters and ads all over the city.

So far I only have tickets for 3 screenings, but will probably catch a couple of more before I have to fly down to San Diego and Mexico next weekend.

On a special note to any photojunkie’s in the city. There is one photography related screening in HotDocs this year for the documentary, “What Remains“. It will be screening at The Isabel Bader Theatre on Saturday at 2pm and at Innis Town Hall on Sunday at 6:30pm. I’ll be at the Sunday screening.

Signs of Spring VI

Signs of Spring VI

Over the last week, leaves have been opening up on every tree and bush all over the city. I’ve even noticed that on some lawns the grass is definitely greener. This morning I even saw a landscaper mowing a property. The loog term forecast predicts temperatures in the teens for the next week and a sunny weekend. This is good news.

DIY Jewel Case Frames

This looks like a great project for a rainy day. Are you looking to hang some of your photography, but the cost of framing is getting you down? Perhaps you just want something inexpensive yet different. Well here is a tutorial on how to create DIY Jewel Case Frames.

For any square shooters, you can always use the front insert area to frame your picture, cause we know how difficult it is to find decent square frames for all that holga goodness.

expect

expect : I love the angle that you shot this at, the positioning of the woman with her back to the poster is classic. I even love the reflections of the lines from the building across the street.

Picture The Cure 2006 submissions

I almost let this slip by me. My good friend Irina is going to have her second annual fundraiser for Brest Cancer called Picture The Cure. This year she is opening up submissions to all. The deadline is May 1st. It’s a cool way to get your images shown and it all goes to a good cause.

You can read more about the cause in the spotlight I did on Irina last year.
