Extra Portraits this week!

My friend Ken has been kind enough to lend me his EF 85mm 1.8. Last night, I used it to shoot some images of Irina for an upcoming spotlight (more on that later). I haven’t had a chance to download the images, but from what I could tell, the lens works wonders. And it will remain in my possession for the remainder of the week. Which means I’ll probably be shooting lots of supplementary portraits on my digital camera at the Portraits in the Park sessions today and tomorrow. You can expect a full review of the lens with pictures VERY SOON.

rusted screw

rusted screw : Great composition on this small detail. The colours definitely add mood to the image.

Daisy & Water Drop

Daisy & Water Drop : The details in this shot and simple wonderful. I especially like how you can make out petal details in the water drop.

What the Hell!

oh no

Found this on the ground this morning. Yikes tomorrow is September!

Queens Park is a GO

After fear of being rained out from the reminants of Katerina, it looks like the Queen’s Park Session of Portraits in the Park is a go. Looking out the window, there are still a number of clouds in the sky, but the sun is definitely breaking through. Here are the details. I will probably be close to the statue of the guy on the horse.

Queens Park

PS: I have all the pictures up to the High Park session ready for distribution.

The not so secret Swing

So far this year, my attempts to go to the CNE have been foiled. I was originally supposed to go opening day, but the weather was beyong horrible. The TPMG group went on Sunday, but I couldn’t go along, because it was my dad’s birthday. Looks like we are going to go on Saturday. I’ve been every year for the past few years now. Corn dogs are my favorites.

The CNE Swing shot with my Lubitel 2 back in 2003.

Of course it seems like everyone else has already been.

Scenes we cannot change

Scenes we cannot change : I admit it, the bike drew me in, but when you get past that, there is something interesting about the composition.
