I think too fast

Just before bedtime, Jay made a remark that I found quite amusing. For the past few days, he has been bothering me about my atrocious spelling and grammar on this site. I do admit it can get down right nasty. So we’re sitting out on the balcony having a smoke, me with my laptop in tow, editing pictures i took yesterday evening. He says to me, “You think to0 fast and your hand can’t keep up with your mind.”

I’ve been thinking about it and I suppose it’s true. Generally speaking, my mind doesn’t think in fully formed sentences. I tend to mentally produce sentence fragments and ideas in my head, that just spurt out at will. Now that I think about it, I probably don’t make sense when I talk either. I leave out important details and cues that would inform people what I am talking about. It makes you wonder how I even communicate at all.

In any case, if you see the text in the blog change, it means that Jay’s sent me an edit. I suppose I really should write my text in a proper word processor, so I can do proper spelling and grammar checks. Half the time I’ll be lucky if I’m half awake when I’m writing.

Out of this world

Looks like me Last night, I checked out the new art installation at Monte Clark
Gallery in the Distillery District. They were showing two different exhibits by novelist, artist and designer, Douglas Coupland.

The gallery space was packed with hipsters and the high art crowd, all fashionably dressed. If you looked carefully enough, there was Doug near the front corner of the gallery being interviewed by City-TV wearing walking shorts and a short-sleeve button-down shirt. Trés amusing, obviously he was the only gen-Xer in the room.

There were some interesting pieces included in the show. I can’t say I really understood it all, but it was definitely worth checking out.

We walked bythis alley and both Carrie and I turned and pointed instinctively insync.

mac and pi

mac and pi – I love the graphic nature of this image, very simple black and white with nice strong lines and curves.

brooklyn

brooklyn – I love how this images gives you the sense of flying. The composition and colour are spot on.

Deserted

Deserted – The cold tones definitely add to the sombre and creepy feel of this set of images. I love the blur and the broken windows.
